Q Does the kwikkerb crack?
A Probably the most asked question, All concrete can crack.Our concrete has to be laid on a firm base,dosnt have to be crushed gravel ,as long as the dirt is hard and level. However we have special additives in which we add in help to avoid cracking.We put fiber in all our concrete,Which intertwines and help hold the concrete together to make it strong.Rebar can also be used. We also install control joints,every three or four feet.The concrete is meant to float on top of the ground.If someone says there concrete will not crack,I personally wouldn't hire them.The weather in Southern Alberta changes so drastically.Which makes the concrete expand and contract.
Q I already planted my flowers and or shrubs,will the preparation for the kwikkerb damage my landscape?
A No we take special care, we work on the grass side of your landscape,picking up excess concrete as we go.
Q I have a new yard ,What do I need to do to get ready for my Kwik Kerb?
A The first thing you need to do is get your yard up to grade.Put your topsoil in,pack it and roll it ,get it ready for laying your sod.When that is done we come in and lay your kwik Kerb where you want it, in any shape,color or pattern.Then you just butt your sod up to the kerb and your done.Underground sprinklers can be put in before we lay the kerb or after.
Q I have a stamped concrete driveway,can you match the color?
A We will match the color to your stamped concrete, interlocking brick, stone, brick on your home.The color may not be exact ,but it will be close.
Q How long does it take to do a job?
A Usually it takes only one day, depending on the size of the job,some bigger jobs may take longer.
Q Do I have to have the curb in color and stamped?
A No, it's your garden. We will do it your way,plain concrete is fine,We do a lot of plain concrete kerbs.Some people put the colored stamped kerb in the front yard and then put plain concrete kerb in the back,so plain is fine by us.
Q How much does kwikkerb cost per linear foot ?
A We @Sunny South Kwik Kerb do not price per foot, We come out to give you a free written estimate. Every job is unique in its way so different techniques are required and different preparations, materials, that is why we price by the job.
In saying this is cheaper than you doing it yourself.
Buying a good quality interlocking stone,screenings, p9000, sand,your labor.................................$$$$$
